They have a Texas accent so ask if they are from there and say "I used to [live/work/study] there." They are in sales "Sales is such an interesting field and my team enjoys learning about sales process and technique". They are in a profession/trade "My friend is [lawyer/plumber/nurse] and they love what they do" By relating back to them or what they do you can start on building bonds.
